WISHY WASHY WONDERBOY

janus_bust_198124012_std

I usually accept things
The way that I find them.
I get some bad hands
But I really don’t mind them.
You loved me yesterday
Bored with me today.
Sometimes I wish we could
Do this affair another way.

Up and down, then in and out;
That’s what you and I are all about.
Here today, gone this afternoon;
That’s the name of your crazy tune.

Love me or hate me
Choose what you want.
This flippy-flooppy love
Is just a wasteful taunt.
I think I must be using
The incorrect terminology.
Love doesn’t fit with
Your current methodology.

Up and down, then in and out;
That’s what you and I are all about.
Here today, gone this afternoon;
That’s the name of your crazy tune.

I think it is me who has
Mistaken lust for affection.
It might be time for me
To go another direction.
I will miss some of your
Intimate bedroom frolic,
But this kind of relationship
Seems very much alcoholic.

Up and down, then in and out;
That’s what you and I are all about.
Here today, gone this afternoon;
That’s the name of your crazy tune.

A FELLOW SCORNED

FELLOW SCORNED

A FELLOW SCORNED

You said it would be

Just you and me

Not he and she

No go-between wanted,

No love scenes blunted

By an unwanted woman

That other kind of human

With the other kind of plumbing

Or maybe it was something,

Another kind of love thing

That you had in mind.

Am I being unkind

To call you a liar

Or am I preaching to the choir

When I claim you dissemble

That you strongly resemble

A snake with two tongues?

I am wasting my precious lungs

And my sacred breath

Hounding you to death

With my blistering outrage?

Do you wish I’d turn the next page

And let you get on with lying

And complete my goodbye-ing

So you can have your new beginning,

Yet another one-sided inning

In your egotistical search

For someone else to besmirch

With you promises and kisses.

Well, on to all your misses.

And maybe even some more misters.

Did she know that when you kissed her

And made her fall as I once did?

I wish I had gone and hid.
