FIDDLY BITS
Fiddly bits,
Fiddly bits
This attention to detail
Is giving me fits.
Open and shut
Over and done
Enough with the detail.
Let me have fun.
Getting up in the morning
Is not quite enough
This being a grownup
Is becoming too rough.
I’m awake and I already
Took a good pee.
What else would the world
Be expecting of me?
Fiddly bits,
Fiddly bits
This attention to detail
Is giving me fits.
Open and shut
Over and done
Enough with the detail.
Let me have fun.
I fixed a fine breakfast
Some tea and some toast.
These are the things
As I love them the most.
But now I must bathe
Then deal with attire.
Am I going outside?
So, where is the fire?
Catching the bus is
To say in the least
A modern day version
Of a Mad Hatter’s feast.
A true urban circus
And I am the clown.
No room, no room.
Move down, move down.
Fiddly bits,
Fiddly bits
This attention to detail
Is giving me fits.
Open and shut
Over and done
Enough with the detail.
Let me have fun.
Work is no better;
My in-box is full.
I am just Sisyphus
I don’t push, but I pull.
I would go on vacation
But I already learned
The budget won’t have it.
No surplus was earned.
Fiddly bits,
Fiddly bits
This attention to detail
Is giving me fits.
Open and shut
Over and done
Enough with the detail.
Let me have fun.
